Island Images - The Isle of Man's Railways

'Ratchet Car' No 14 crosses 'Ham and Egg Terrace' in Laxey.  The name comes from the lack of air brakes, these cars being braked by use of the ratchet hand brake, that the driver has his right hand on.  No 14 is the only such car currently in service.
